Day one was a day of what might have been for Paul Nolan, with both of his horses, ‘Mrs Milner’ and ‘HMS Seahorse’ running very good races. ‘Mrs Milner’ in particular was badly hampered by a faller in front, yet powered up the hill strongly to finish 3rd in the Grade One mares hurdle.

‘Corach Rambler’ won the Ultima Chase for Scottish trainer Lucinda Russell. As the name indicates, the horse has Wexford connections having been bred by Paul Hillis from Wellingtonbridge.

Here are the runners and riders with Wexford connections tomorrow:

1.30 Ballymore Novice Hurdle – Sean O’Keeffe rides ‘Haxo’ for Willie Mullins.

2.10 Brown Advisory Novice Chase – Sean Flanagan rides ‘Beacon Edge’ for Noel Meade. The favourite for this race ‘Bravemansgame’ trained by Paul Nichols started his racing career when winning a point to point in Lingstown for Donnacha Doyle back in 2019.

2.50 Coral Cup – Rob James rides ‘The Bosses Oscar’ for Gordon Elliott, a horse who started out with Denis Murphy. Daryl Jacob rides ‘Call Me Lord’ for Nicky Henderson, Jordan Gainford rides ‘Indigo Breeze’ for Gordon Elliott and Sean O’Keeffe rides ‘Maze Runner’ for Willie Mullins. ‘Daly Tiger’ started out with Mick Goff before moving to Noel Meade.

3.30 Champion Chase – Dual Cheltenham Festival winner ‘Envoi Allen’ runs in the Champion Chase. The 8 year old won a point to point in Ballinaboola for Colin Bowe in February 2018.

4.10 Cross Country – Sean Flanagan rides ‘Tout Est Permis’ for Noel Meade.

4.50 Grand Annual – Sean O’Keeffe rides ‘Exit Poll’ for Jessica Harrington and Jordan Gainford rides ‘Capuccimix’ for Henry De Bromhead. ‘Amarillo Sky’ trained by Colin Tizzard won on his only start in a point to point back in 2020 for Colin Bowe.

5.30 Champion Bumper – Paul Nolan’s third runner of the week is ‘Joyeux Machin’, who started off in a Point to Point for Denis Murphy before moving to Nolan. Jamie Codd rides ‘American Mike’ for Gordon Elliott who began racing with Sean Doyle, Jonathan Moore rides ‘Cillians Charm’ for Anthony McCann and Sean O’Keeffe rides ‘James Gate’ for Willie Mullins.

A further two runners began in Co.Wexford point to point yards. ‘Madmansgame’ won for Donnacha Doyle as recently as December 2021 while ‘Music Drive’ won for Colin Bowe in Monksgrange in September 2021.
