Wexford Hockey Season Opens in Skerries

The Wexford Keeper also plays in goal for Glynn-Barntown in Camogie

The Wexford Ladies Hockey Club open their Leinster League campaign away to Skerries on Saturday at 12 noon.

The Wexford Hockey Club was founded in 1948; Club Chairperson, Avril Quirke, gave us some background on the club and its long association with the town.

We paid a visit to their training session at the Loreto on Tuesday evening, where we spoke to coach, Dave Williamson, players Lizzie, Anna, Sass, Helen, Dara, and Sinead.

Junior Coach, Dara Gahan, gave us an insight into the underage structure of the club.

The club is looking forward to their opening game against Skerries on Saturday in the Leinster League
