Double Delight for Murphy & Codd at Lingstown

Denis Murphy and Jamie Codd combined to take both divisions of the 4yo Maiden at Lingstown this afternoon.

Grangeclare West, by Presenting, owned by Edelle Logan, and Viva Lavilla, a son of Getaway, are both sales bound following their victories.

Better B Quick was first past the post in the Banks Race, but following a stewards enquiry Michael Murphy’s charge was demoted, victory went the way of the Richard O’ Keeffe trained Vital Island, in the hands of Tiernan Roche. The Trans Island 8yo may well take on the Cross Country race next March at the Cheltenham Festival.

Shane O’Rourke won the 5yo Mares Maiden on the Gerard Quirke trained Nancy Wyse.

Simon Cavanagh and Bardenstown Lad landed the 5yo geldings maiden for Adrian Murray, and Rob James took the final contest of the day, the 6yo+ Maiden, with Cut Prentender, for David Nagle.

The West Waterford’s also raced this afternoon, Cormac Doyle took the 4yo geldings maiden, at Boulta, with Connies Choice, the Westerner gelding, partnered by Jack Hendrick will now be offered for sale.

The Darly Deacon trained Call It Time landed the Winners Of One contest under Moira McElligott, the Tattersalls maiden winner from last year may well contest a Limerick Hunters Chase over Christmas.
