D’Arcy to Resign from the Seanad

Michael D’Arcy is to resign from the Seanad and instead take up a private sector position as Chief Executive of the Irish Association of Investment Management (IAIM). They are representative body for the funds and investment industry.

Interestingly until the new Government was formed, D’Arcy was the Minister of State in charge of this area. It remains to be seen whether he will be permitted to take up the role immediately, as the Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015 prevents a former Minister from taking up a lobbying position for 12 months after they leave the public office.
