Wexford Horse has a 39 length Runaway Win in Listowel

The Wexford trained, owned and ridden, Costalotmore, raced to a very unusual 39 length victory in the bumper at Listowel on Wednesday evening at odds of 20/1.

The 6yo Primary gelding led after half a mile in the hands of Tiernan Power Roche, the combination went further and further clear, had a 30 length advantage with a circuit to go, and never saw another rival for the remainder of the contest.

The homebred winner was bred and owned by Des Ellard, out of the Old Vic mare, Born To Win, in Carne, and trained by Richard O’Keeffe.

Twice successful in point-to-points last year at Lingstown and Courtown, he gave the Tomhaggard rider, based with Michael Murphy in Duncormick, his second career victory on the track.
