Browne Appointed as Junior Minister

Enniscorthy based, Fianna Fail TD James Browne, is this afternoon to be appointed as a Junior Minister at the Department of Justice, with responsibility for Law Reform.

The appointment comes following Agriculture Minister Dara Calleary’s resignation last month over the ‘golf-gate’ scandal. As a result of that resignation, Junior Minister for Law Reform, Charlie McConalogue will be appointed the new Minister for Agriculture. This move leaves a vacancy in the Law Reform Ministry, which appears will be taken up by James Browne.

James follows in the footsteps of his father John, who served as Minister in many different roles over the course of his 34 years as a TD.

We wish Minister James Browne all the best in his new role.
