McGrath Brings A Wealth of Experience To The Harriers

Can the Derek McGrath factor advance the Harriers to the semi-finals?

The Faythe Harriers secured the services of Derek McGrath earlier this season and it is seen as a huge step in the progression of the club.

The former Waterford manager brings a wealth of managerial experience to the Wexford town club. In 2007 he guided the De La Salle College team to the Harty Cup, they later claimed the All-Ireland following a narrow 0-13 to 1-9 victory over Kilkenny CBS. The following season De La Salle College retained their title.

In 2012 he managed his own club, De La Salle, to win the Waterford Senior Championship, defeating Dungarvan, 1-21 to 0-12

He was appointed Waterford manager in October 2013. In 2015 they won the National League, reached the Munster final and All-Ireland semi-final. Two years later they lost out to Galway in the All Ireland Final on a scoreline of 0-26 to 2-17.

We spoke to Derek McGrath in Parc Carman on Saturday evening following a challenge game between the Faythe Harriers and HWH Bunclody.
