The two Wexford candidates standing in the Seanad Elections will learn their fate sometime this week, as counting gets underway in the elections to serve in Seanad Eireann.
Cllr Malcolm Byrne (FF) is standing for election to the Cultural and Educational Panel, due to his ‘knowledge and practical experience of art’.
Former TD and former Senator, Minister Michael D’Arcy (FG) is standing to become a member of the Agricultural panel, due to his “knowledge and practical experience of agriculture and allied interests”.
The count will take place at the Printworks, Dublin Castle. Counting will begin at 12 noon, today, Monday 30th of March and is expected to continue until Friday 3rd of April.
The following people were eligible to vote in the election of panel members:
- Members of the incoming Dáil
- Members of the outgoing Seanad
- Members of county councils and city councils
We will provide updates on the counts as they progress.
