Firman trades his hurl for a guitar

St Martin’s sharpshooter, Jake Firman, looks to have traded his hurl for a guitar if this morning’s reaction on Twitter is anything to go by.

He wrote and performed a song about the Coronavirus, sent it to his teammates on Whatsapp, well received by the lads, and uploaded to Twitter by fellow club man, Jack O’Connor, on Friday night. It’s currently had over 22,000 views on that platform.

He told WexfordToday that,

“Basically I was just sitting in the room and started writing a few things down for the craic and it just kinda took shape.”

“To be honest the song was just a bit of fun for the lads and to cheer a few people up!”

The St Peter’s teacher scored a goal and two points from play in last October’s Pettitt’s Senior Hurling Final against St Annes.
