Enniscorthy 3
Pembroke Wanderers 2

Enniscorthy’s ladies seconds hosted Pembroke Wanderers at the Astro Active Centre on Saturday in what was a hard-fought Division 11 encounter which yielded five goals.

Pembroke raced into a two-goal first-half lead, one being into an empty net as powerhouse goalkeeper Kate Freeman managed an injury. Enniscorthy fought back with their first goal in the second quarter, resulting from a penalty corner, passed out from Aine O’Brien with a straight shot by Lisa Frayne.

Enniscorthy’s comeback was completed in the third quarter with their second goal from Dervla Walsh off a pass from Caoimhe Larkin. The Slaneysiders clutched the game in the fourth quarter with another goal from Lisa Frayne. Pembroke couldn’t read the play as Aine O’Brien passed the ball out to Frayne who switched it to Martha Dunne on the right as Dunne quickly sent it back to Frayne for the shot on goal and a 3-2 win.
