Clean Coasts and Wexford County Council will host a workshop for, and with local community groups, to complete some restoration work on the sand dunes at Ballinesker Beach on Saturday the 7th of March from 11am to 12.30. It is hoped to upskill volunteers in the region on how to replant sand dunes and come up with a coordinated plan for the area going forward.
All volunteers should meet in the carpark at 11am for a chat about the sand dunes, and run through how the day will work. Following this a workshop on marram grass planting and then coordinate marram grass planting sessions in a few areas with volunteers.
At 12:30 Wexford County Council will provide refreshments, and everyone will have the opportunity to feed into upcoming plans for the area.
Please Note: Gloves will be provided – but bring your own trowel!
For anyone not wanting to plant marram grass, beach cleaning kits will be provided.
