Derek McGrath joins Harriers management

The Faythe Harriers Executive, last night, ratified Derek McGrath, Tony Walsh, David Mooney, to take charge of the Faythe Harriers senior hurling team for the coming season.

The former Waterford manager brings a wealth of managerial experience to the Wexford town club. In 2007 he guided the De La Salle College team to the Harty Cup, they later claimed the All-Ireland following a narrow 0-13 to 1-9 victory over Kilkenny CBS. The following season De La Salle College retained their title.

In 2012 he managed his own club, De La Salle, to win the Waterford Senior Championship, defeating Dungarvan, 1-21 to 0-12

He was appointed Waterford manager in October 2013. In 2015 they won the National League, reached the Munster final and All-Ireland semi-final in 2015. They lost out to Galway in the All Ireland Final on a scoreline of 0-26 to 2-17.
