“North End are bonkers”- Gary Dempsey

Peter Doyle and Nicky Murphy recently spoke to North End United joint manager, Gary Dempsey.

Gary began his career at the Wexford town club, he spent four years at Cherry Orchard in Dublin, from there signed a 4-year contract with Everton as a 16yo. He was part of the team that won the FA Youth Cup with the likes of Richard Dunne and Francis Jeffers.

In 2002, he was signed by Scottish side Dunfermline Athletic, where he made 80 league appearances over a three-year period, scoring seven league goals. He scored on his debut against Celtic at Parkhead in front of 66,000 fans.

He joined Aberdeen in 2004 and later went on to join Yeovil Town. He also played League Of Ireland with, St Patrick’s Athletic, Bray Wanderers, Waterford United, Shelbourne.

This season he returns to Belvedere as joint manager with John Godkin.
