Brendan wins Cavan Grand Prix on Saturday night

Brendan Murphy & Chiricco 2 won the penultimate leg of the Autumn Grand Prix at the Cavan Equestrian Centre on Saturday night.

The winning combination had over three seconds to spare on the league leader Olive Clarke. Chiricco 2 is a 13yo Chin Chin gelding owned by Sandra Duffy in Mayo.

Twenty-year-old Brendan, from Coolgreany, is now based with Vinny Duffy in Mayo, having recently returned from a spell in Germany with Cameron Hanley. His sister, Linda Murphy is a well-known producer of young horses, and his first cousin, Brian Murphy, is well known in show circles throughout the country.

Chiricco 2 is declared for Sunday’s Grand Prix in Cavan as they bid to win back to back competitions.
