John Browne, former TD, on the low turnout

Dan Walsh spoke to general election veteran, John Browne, at the count on Saturday about the extremely low turn out of Friday’s by-election.

More Wexford voters turned out to cast their ballot than in any of the other three constituencies with 35.3% of the electorate voting.

The former Fianna Fáil TD represented Wexford for 34 years in Dáil Éireann, elected in all eight general elections he contested. John talks about how politics has changed since his time, rural Ireland has been neglected and he feels that there are too many ministers based in Dublin.
