With the Annual County Wexford GAA Convention only 2 weeks away, former County Chairman, Diarmuid Devereux, discusses his time at the helm.
Having become Chairman at a challenging time in Wexford GAA in December of 2011, Devereux successfully managed to steer the ship back on course. This included sorting out the county’s finances, making the all-important progress on the Ferns centre of excellence, and working on a plan to bring greater success to Wexford hurling. This success came to pass in 2013 with the start of the 3 in a row Leinster under 21 hurling titles, while at the end of his term he successfully secured the services of Davy Fitzgerald as Wexford Senior Hurling manager.
He talks to Peter Mernagh and we hear his account of those events first hand.
