In recent years the annual Wicklow Hunt point-to-point races have been successfully run at Fairwood, Tinahely, with the goodwill and support of the Shillelagh & District Hunt, and the 2019 autumn renewal takes place next Sunday.

Seventy-seven entries have been received for the six-race card and the first competitive contest for the four-year-old maidens will be underway at 12.30 pm. It is going to be a cold day (maximum temperatures not expected to exceed 7 degrees) and conditions on the track are expected to be ‘soft’. However, good racing is guaranteed and the organisers deserve good support, so wrap up well and come racing on Sunday.

12.30 pm; T. Swaine & Sons Ltd 4 years old maiden race. (36 entries).

1 pm; Doran W. O’Toole & Company Solicitors 5 and 6 years old maiden race. (8 entries).

1.30 pm; Mervyn Sunderland 5&6 years old geldings maiden race. (9 entries).

2 pm; Kavanagh Tarmacadam Ltd and C&C Building Providers Open Lightweight Race. (8 entries).

2.30 pm; Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge and Mill House Veterinary 6 years old plus maiden race – confined to novice riders. (7 ran). 3 pm; Golden Anchor Castletown Winner of Two Race. (9 entries).
