The latest statement from Irish Water to WexfordToday.com indicates that repairs to a burst water main has been completed and the water supply has been returned to Gorey town.
Areas affected in Gorey town include Creagh, Hunters Green, Creagh Demesne, Clonattin Upper (Oakridge, Doire Fea), Willow Park, Baile Eoghain, Raithin Cuilin, Cois Doire, Woodlands Manor, Ashwood Grove, Fort Road, The Orchard, Ramsfort Park, Eire Street, Cluainin, Coislinne, Hollyfort Road, and Gorey Hill.
Meanwhile, many households are on social media tonight complaining that their supply has not been returned to normal and many people are without an adequate supply. There has been calls on local public representatives to address this problem, which locals say, is becoming all too frequent, and urgent action is required in the Gorey area.
However, Irish Water added; “Due to air locks, pressure fluctuations and / or discolouration of the water supply it may take longer for water to be restored to customers on higher ground and on the extremities of the network.”
Irish Water and Wexford County Council apologise for any inconvenience caused.
