Thirteen years old Marshalstown boxer, Caoimhe Kinsella, who is a star member of the Ireland team, is guaranteed a medal when she steps into the ring in the 38kg final at the 2019 European Schoolboys/girls Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia, tomorrow (Sunday) at 11 am (Irish time).
Kinsella, who flew out on Monday, won her semi-final about against Tamar Samelia of Georgia, 5-0. Tomorrow she faces Gulcan Turgul of Turkey in the the European Finals and she carries with her the good wishes of the whole sporting nation.

Caoimhe learned her ring skills at St. Anthony’s – St. Patrick’s Boxing Club at Enniscorthy, and is the only Wexford sportsperson on the 32-person mixed team of 20 boys 12 girls, junior cadets aged 12 and 13 years.
She won her Irish championship and her cadet championship this year. After winning her cadets she was asked to train at the high performance unit in Dublin’s National Stadium Dublin. She was then picked to go to the European Championships in Tbilisi. She boxed in her first international against Italy three weeks ago and won.
Now, Caoimhe Kinsella is only three rounds away from European gold. It will a tough challenge but there is endless Irish confidence behind the talented young Wexford girl.
