James and Doyle celebrate Cork double

ROB JAMES rode a double at Portrush point-to-point.

Rob James and Donnchadh Doyle were in winning form at Bartlemy point-to- point today sharing a pair of victories at the Cork track.
They immediately struck form in the maiden race for four year olde mares when Fantasia Roque in the Monbeg Syndicate colours got her head in front by half a length.
The maiden race for geldings was ‘divided’ and the James and Doyle team took division two with first time out Lets Go Champ getting the verdict by one and a half lengths.
Racks Cross, owned by Michael Kenny, handled by Kieran Roche at Adamstown and ridden by James Walsh, Preben, Shillelagh, won the mares maiden race for five year olds and upwards, by eight lengths, which deprived James and Doyle of a treble as their charge Cobra Angel filled the runner-up spot.
The first division of the four year old geldings maiden was won by Caitrriona and Michael Goff, Coolgarrow, Enniscorthy with Mustang Alpha on his first run with six lengths to the good. Shane Fitzgerald was the winning rider.
