Fire service tackling major blaze in Gorey town

UPDATE ON FIRE IN GOREY TOWN CENTRE

The morning after the night before has revealed that last night’s fire at the old Eircom building on Gorey’s Rafter Street started in a wheelie bin.
Two units of Gorey Fire Service rushed to the scene at around 10.30 pm and quickly succeeded in containing the fire and limiting the scene to minor damage.
The location of the outbreak is in the town centre and is surrounded by commercial and residential units and could have had serious consequences if not for the swift action of the firefighters.

A major fire is in progress at the old Eircom building on Rafter Street, Gorey.
Two units of Gorey Fire Service are at the scene and battling to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby property in the centre of the town.
The street has been cordoned off.
