Tenors hit the high notes with Mt Leinster Gold

ANTHONY KEARNS Internationally renowned tenor was a winning owner with Mt Leinster Gold.

Bank Holiday Monday point-to-pointing took place at Birch Hill, Cork, where internationally renowned tenor Anthony Kearns won the five year old mares maiden race with Mt Leinster Gold ridden by Barry O’Neill.
Mt Leinster Gold, who was runner-up at Monksgrange eight days earlier, and won by eight lengths, was bred by Kearns singer colleague on the Irish Tenors, Ronan Tynan.
Anthony Kearns went to Kiltealy National School with the mare’s handler Colin Bowe and has had a number of horses, including winners, with Bowe over the years.
Denis Murphy’s good run of luck continued in the maiden race for four year old geldings as Face The Odds, in the colours of Walter Connors, sailed home to a five lengths victory under a good ride from Harley Dunne.
