Gorey on song for Festival of Choirs

The 3rd annual Festival of Choirs takes place at seven venues around Gorey for four days from Thursday to Sunday and will feature over 800 voices and 30 choirs from Dublin and Jersey and many regions of Co. Wexford.
The programme is as follows;
THURSDAY, May 9th; Creagh College at 7.30 pm for Post-Primary Schools; Presentation Wexford School Choir, Bridgetown Vocational College Choir, Gorey Community School Choir and Creagh College Choir.
FRIDAY, May 10th; Ashdown Park Hotel at 3.30 pm for Primary Schools; Bunscoil Loreto Choir, Monamolin School Choir, Ferns Primary School Choir, Tara Hill School Choir, Kilanerin School Choir and Melody Meastros.
Ashtown Park Hotel at 8 pm for Jazz, Light and Popular Music; South Dublin CC Vocal Ensemble, Harmony Men’s Choir (Jersey), Wexford Harp Ensemble, Gorey Choral Group, Rolling Tones and Suantraí.
SATURDAY, May 11th; Gorey Community School at 12 noon; Workshop for Choirs presented by Sara Clancy.
2.30 – 4.30 pm at Gorey Library and Courthouse for World Music and Acapella; Harmony Men’s Choir (Jersey), South Dublin CC Vocal Ensemble, Quay Note Singers, Valda Chamber Choir, Stagefright and Dawn Chorus.
SUNDAY, May 12th; Christ Church at 11.30 am; Credo.
St. Michael’s Parish Church at 7 pm; Enniscorthy Gospel Choir, St. Michael’s Craanford Singers, Ballygarrett Parish Choir, Cairde Enniscorthy, Cantable Choir and Suantrai.
The aims of the Festival are to fundraise for Wexford Hospice Homecare services and for choirs to come together and socialise in a non-competitive event. The Festival will also incorporate a gala concert to celebrate Gorey 400.
All funds raised will go directly to the charity. No tickets are required for any events. Donations on the door generously accepted.
