Wexford Youths came out on top in this keenly contested Só Hotels Women’s National League encounter at Ferrycarrig Park on Saturday.

In the 7th Rianna Jarrett produced a clinical finish, she rifled the ball into Kilkenny’s net, to put the home side in front.

Kylie Murphy headed what looked like Wexford’s second goal, but it was disallowed as the cross had drifted wide before coming back into play.

Rianna Jarrett’s second half goal was flagged for offside- possibly harshly.

Blessing Kingsley was introduced in the 73rd minute, 12 minutes later she doubled the home side’s lead as she pounced on a defensive error- her first senior goal.

On the stroke of full time Orlaith Conlon’s volley rattled the Kilkenny crossbar.

Wexford Youth’s next league match is away to Shelbourne on Saturday the 11th of May.
