Tributes paid to legendary broadcaster Cecil Riddall

Cecil Riddall is congratulated by Bishop Denis Brennan and Maria Colfer, Chairperson of Christian Media Trust after stepping down from a 28 year broadcasting career on South East Radio.

Cecil Riddall had been one of the longest serving broadcasters on South East Radio and there was a huge reaction from listeners when he announced his retirement recently. Many expressed the feeling that they have lost “a welcome voice and a great friend.”
Cecil played a unique mix of hymns and christian music on Sunday mornings at 10 am and had a huge fan base with a long list of requests for each episode.
Many tributes have been paid to Cecil and amongst the first to offer good wishes on a long and happy retirement was the Bishop of Ferns, Bishop Denis Brennan.
The programme ‘Sounds for Sunday’ was produced by the Christian Media Trust and aired on South East Radio for 28 years.
Happy retirement Cecil Riddall.
