The Youths suffered their first defeat of the season, to arch rivals, Peamount, in their fourth round game of the So Hotels Women’s National League, at PRL Park, Greenogue, on Saturday evening.

The sides are now level on points at the top of the table, Wexford hold the advantage on goal difference, but Peamount have a game in hand.

The home-side looked to have the best of the exchanges in the first half, at the break it remained deadlocked, 0-0.

Peamount made the breakthrough in the 58th minute with a perfectly struck shot from outside the box by Eleanor Ryan Doyle. Ten minutes later the same player doubled Peamount’s lead, 2-0.
