Wexford Youths 3

Wexford Youths travelled to Bishopstown for their first away game of the season, on Sunday.

In the 12th minute, Rianna Jarrett gave the keeper no chance as slotted a penalty into the bottom corner to open the visitors account. Jarrett added the second, nearing the half hour mark, with a brilliant free from outside the box to make it 2-0 to the visitors.

Cork City had valid penalty claims waved away by the referee, and just before the break, they also struck the crossbar with a lovely looping effort.

20 minutes into the second half, Jarrett was was awarded another penalty following some very nifty footwork; she struck it sweetly but the Cork keeper dived to her right to push the ball around the post.

In the 85th minute, a poor back pass forced the Cork keeper into an error and the ball fell nicely to Aoife Slattery, just outside the box, she placed the ball perfectly in the roof of the net to make it 3-0 Wexford.
