Fine Gael runs five candidates in North Wexford

WEXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL headquarters at Carricklawn, Wexford.

The upcoming Local Elections in May will see current County Councillors Anthony Donohoe and Oliver Walsh, joined on the ticket by former Wexford GAA Chairman Diarmuid Devereux, and two forthcoming female politicians, Edel Gahan and Elaine Clarke.

CLLR ANTHONY DONOHOE

Elaine Clarke originally from Dublin, moved to Courtown twenty years ago. Passionate about the movement to get a new secondary school opened in Gorey, Elaine has been very vocal lobbying the Government in recent months. With the aim of being a ‘voice for the ordinary people in the community’, Elaine is motivated to improve all amenities in the District of Gorey.
Gorey native Diarmuid Devereux is extremely proud to be supported by his wife, children and his grandchildren in this year’s Local Elections. Diarmuid’s career includes 28 years with Telecom Eireann and 15 years as MD of Cork based MDK Ltd and five years as Chairman of Wexford GAA County Board. Diarmuid is the current Vice Chairman of St. Aidan’s Services in Gorey and CEO of Gorey Chamber of Commerce.
Anthony Donohoe is honoured to be selected again to run in the Local Elections. Commenting on the future, Anthony stated that he has worked hard for people in the District over the last five years and he is committed to advancing on the work he has done should he be re-elected.

CLLR OLIVER WALSH

The Kilmuckridge District features current Cllr Oliver Walsh and newcomer Edel Gahan from the parish of Boolavogue. Edel was Vice-Chair of the IFA in Wexford, having also held a strong Vice-Chair role on the National Farm Business Committee for the IFA. Backed by her family and extended family, Edel believes she brings a choice for change on this year’s ballot paper.
Oliver Walsh, a current County Councillor and former Chairman of Wexford County Council, is from Inch, Blackwater and has a proven record of working hard for the people of Wexford. He is also very connected to farming families in the area.
