Child injured at Enniscorthy pedestrian crossing

A ten year old child has been removed to hospital by ambulance following an incident involving a car at the pedestrian crossing at Bellefield, Enniscorthy, shortly before 9 am today.
The injury sustained is not life-threatening
Gardai at Enniscorthy have confirmed that they are investigating the incident.
This particular crossing has been the subject of public concern for some time and has been discussed at meetings of Enniscorthy Municipal District Council.
The lights had been vandalised five times, however, a spokesperson for the Council and verified by local residents have confirmed that the lights had been repaired and were working perfectly.
