Funeral arrangements for GAA star Scott Doran

Final arrangements have been made for Scott Doran’s funeral, within days of his 45th birthday, following the death of one of Wexford’s most talented sportsmen over the festive period.
Scott Doran was born on January 23rd 1974, grew up in the Lakelands district and from an early age excelled in sport, be it on the local pitch, at Wexford Park or the Billy Browne Cup at Killane, or playing a nine iron on the pitch ‘n’ putt course.
But his greatest days were in the Wexford senior football jersey with 108 appearances (17 in the championship) and scoring a total of 238 points in a career from 1993 to 2007. Afterwards, he pursued a new life in London where he also kept his interest in football a very active one.
There will be a service in Manchester at Vale Royal Crematorium, Shurlach LN, Davenham, Northwich CW9 8RP. Friday, January 18th at 10.45 am. Finger food provided afterwards at The Bulls Head; Davenham, Northwich CW9 8NA.
Scott’s family will then be taking his ashes home to Wexford. The service will commence on Saturday, January 26th at 11 am in Rathangan Church. He will be laid to rest with his brother, Aidan, in Rathangan Cemetery. Food will be provided afterwards at The Temple Bar, Rathangan, Duncormick, Co. Wexford.
