The 5th annual Wexford Has Talent Competition is back with a fantastic €2,000 cash prize for the overall winner, two runners up prizes of €500 each plus this year, one lucky competitor will have the opportunity to bag themselves a ‘Golden Ticket’ pass straight through to the Grand Final 2019.
The much-anticipated audition date for the annual competition has been announced; competitors are invited to book a free audition place on Sunday, January 13th at Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford town from 12 noon to 6 pm.
Wexford Has Talent has taken place in Wexford town annually since 2015 and is kindly sponsored by The Wexford People. The event has grown to become recognised as ‘the’ talent competition in the county launching and awarding talents like the band Fit for Kings, gymnast Tara Doyle Robinson, Seventh Fret musical group and last year’s winner Rachel Grace.
During the auditions, a panel at least three judges will help performers through the audition stages. The competition is open to all ages and all manner of talents and is free to enter.
The organisers say they have added multiple new elements to this year’s competition. Commenting at the launch, Chair of the organising committee Killian Duignan said, “We are delighted to add some brand new elements to the competition this year. We will be accepting video auditions for the first time for all of those who can’t make it along on the 13th of January. We understand the difficulties for bands and music groups especially, to attend on the day so we are introducing this option to help as many potential acts as possible. However, we would still prefer live auditions, and to encourage this, one lucky competitor who performs on the day in Clayton Whites Hotel will be selected by the judges to go straight through to the 2019 Grand Final as a ‘Golden Ticket’ selection.”
For the 2019 competition, two semi-finals will take place following the auditions; these will be on Saturday, January 19th and Saturday, February 16th 2019 and the Grand Final will take place on Saturday, March 9th 2019. All shows will take place in Clayton Whites Hotel.
Free audition places can now be booked in advance via http://www.wexfordhastalent.com or competitors can also turn up on the day to queue for an audition time.
Tickets to the Semi-Finals and Grand Final are now on sale at Clayton Whites Hotel priced at €10 for each Semi-Final of Wexford Has Talent and €15 for the Grand Final. All live shows commence at 8 pm sharp.
