Winners for Doyle and Walsh families


Saturday’s point-to-point was at Portrush, Co. Antrim, and the opening maiden race for four year olds was won by Lone Rocket, by four lengths, for the Monbeg Syndicate, Ballindaggin, trainer Donnchadh Doyle and jockey Rob James.
Minimum Mix running in the colours of father and son, trainer and jockey team of John Walsh and James Walsh, Preban, Tinahely, won the gelding’s maiden for six year olds and upwards.
The Walshs won’t have far to travel tomorrow with action at Fairwood, Tinahely, starting at 2 pm. There are 69 entries for six races.
There is a second Sunday fixture at The Pidgeons, South Westmeath, and a number of Wexford stables have entries there too.
