Liadh Ní Riada receives a Wexford welcome

Presidential candidate Liadh Ni Riada with Cllrs Tom Forde, Mick Roche and Johnny Mythen canvassing in Wexford town last weekend.

Sinn Fein Presidential candidate and MEP for Ireland-South, Liadh Ní Riada was canvassing in Wexford town last weekend and according to Cllr Johnny Mythen “we had a great campaign and received hugely positive feedback from the people of Wexford.”
Cllr Mythen said Ireland needs an energetic President to support and encourage this journey. “Liadh has fought hard for the interests of the Irish people in the European Parliament whether on Brexit, rural Ireland, climate change, neutrality, or economic and social justice. I know that she will be courageous in the defence of democracy, the national interest and Ireland’s sovereignty and neutrality. She will be a voice for a caring Ireland.”
Cllr Mythen said Ms Liadh has been a true friend to the people of Co. Wexford in her role as MEP.
He added that She has defended the interests of Wexford’s fishermen; held meetings with management in Rosslare Europort to campaign for its upgrading; been a passionate campaigner for mental health and met with groups in the county. She has met with farmers groups in places such as the Bannow-Rathangan Show and is campaigning for reform of the Common Agriculture Policy in Brussels; held a public meeting in the county on Brexit and its possible implications for Co. Wexford as well as campaigning on many other issues.
