Five arrested in €1.7m Wexford cash seizure

Gardaí have arrested a 39 year old woman in connection with a cash seizure in Wexford yesterday.
The female is detained in Wexford Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
This brings the total number of arrests to five. One man has been released pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions and four remain in custody.

The current total of €1.7 million was seized yesterday in relation to the three searches.
Gardaí arrested a fourth man in relation to the targeting of organised criminal activity. Officers attached to Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau conducted further searches in Wexford and seizure a further amount of cash.
The man (44 years) was arrested on suspicion of Money Laundering offences in Wexford and is currently detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Wexford Garda Station.
Three men aged 47, 38 and 29 were also arrested on Saturday.

The journal.ie is reporting that two men are due to appear at Wexford District Court at 10.30 am on Monday morning.
